Our story
Established in 2026, Southern Illinois Cremation Society was founded to provide families in Herrin and the surrounding communities with compassionate, dignified care. Our funeral home and cemetery have been thoughtfully designed to meet the needs of today's families while creating a welcoming place to honor, remember, and celebrate life. Though our story is just beginning, our commitment to meaningful service is unwavering. We believe every life is unique, and every farewell should be deeply personal.

Kaitlin Fairchild
Licensed Funeral Director, Embalmer, and Preneed Specialist
Kaitlin is a licensed Funeral Director, Embalmer, and Preneed Specialist who brings deep expertise and compassionate care to our families. A summa cum laude graduate of Southern Illinois University’s Mortuary Science program, she holds specialized certifications as a Crematory Operator and a Green Funeral Service provider. Kaitlin also holds a minor in American Sign Language, allowing her to serve a diverse range of community needs. She is dedicated to guiding families through difficult times with grace, dignity, and a comforting smile. Outside of work, Kaitlin enjoys tending to her garden and getting lost in a good book.
Macie Rosetto
Funeral Assistant/Mortuary Science Student
Macie Rosetto is a funeral assistant dedicated to learning every aspect of funeral service so she can provide compassionate care to the families she helps serve. She is currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Mortuary Science and Funeral Service at Southern Illinois University. Through both her education and time at the funeral home, she is developing the knowledge and skills needed to serve families with professionalism, kindness, and dignity.
Macie is committed to supporting every family during life's most difficult moments. Outside of work and school, she enjoys spending time with her husband and watching heartfelt movies.
